Atrysten Plumbing & Heating Contributes $8,000 Supporting SFU Track & Field, Beyond Athletics’ Beneficiary of The Bell Lap!

Beyond Athletics is excited to announce a generous sponsorship from Atrysten Plumbing & Heating of $8,000 in support of The Bell Lap Beneficiary, SFU Track & Field. Atrysten is a leading mechanical contractor in British Columbia. Founded by Kirk Lanz in 2000, Atrysten has grown to over 80 dedicated professionals who consistently provide top-quality and dependable service to their customers.

The contribution will help the SFU Track & Field program aid athletes financially and allow for more opportunities for them to work towards their dreams of competing at an elite level. Student-athletes Jose Castro, Kaelan House, Braden Ahl, and Jacob Wadhwani had the opportunity to meet Kirk and his wife Kim and expressed their gratitude for the support they received.

Jose shared his thoughts on the meeting: “When speaking with Kirk and Kim about the beginnings of Atrysten, it was nice to learn the attributes I learn in track & field are the same ones needed to be successful for business. Kirk and Kim don’t have a background in track and field, and to me, that shows that supporting the community can go beyond a formal connection and anyone who’s capable of helping is all that’s needed. Their contributions will help not only my class of athletes but those coming into the program.”

Kaelan also reflected on the experience: “Through speaking with Kirk and Kim, I was able to see firsthand what hard work and dedication can lead to if you remain committed and consistent. Having the support of such hardworking people is motivating since it helps me feel that my own efforts are not going unnoticed. I plan to continue to work hard and make these generous and supportive members of our community proud.”

During the conversation, Kirk shared his background in playing hockey while growing up in Saskatchewan and how it helped him develop team-building and leadership skills. He believes that amateur sports are crucial in developing a future generation that knows how to work hard and stay devoted to a passion – qualities he has exemplified in his own life and work.

Atrysten’s mission statement reflects their commitment to excellence: “Our vision at Atrysten is to exceed all expectations through consistency, reliability, quality, and professionalism.” Their core values include honesty, accountability, reliability, and transparency, which they strive to incorporate into their daily activities and services provided to clients.

“When we approached Kirk and Kim about Atrysten’s involvement in sponsoring The Bell Lap, they were more than happy to contribute. Seeing the athletes listen to Kirk’s journey building Atrysten into a huge success over the last 25 years, was inspiring and made me feel like we are on the right track with the vision of Beyond Athletics’. Thank you, Kirk, Kim, and the entire Atrsyten team for trusting us and providing a massive contribution to SFU Track & Field!” – Nathan Wadhwani (Executive Director, Beyond Athletics).

Beyond Athletics is grateful for the support from Atrysten Plumbing and Heating Ltd. and community members like Kirk and Kim. This contribution will significantly help The Bell Lap beneficiary, SFU Track & Field, create more opportunities for student-athletes to excel both in sports and academics, making a significant impact on their futures.
